Life After Camp
Staying in Touch
During your time at Camp Speers, you will make very close friends. Staying in touch after camp is a great way to continue those friendships and hold on to your camp memories.
There are lots of ways that you can stay in touch with your camp friends and with Camp Speers.
- Exchange addresses before you leave camp.
- Come to an off-season Camp Speers program or volunteer event.
- Keep in touch with Camp Speers by joining the online community, when your parents think you are old enough. Become a fan of Camp Speers YMCA on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter and Instagram.
As you head back to school, you may find yourself feeling a little “campsick.” It’s hard not miss your new friends, counselors and the days of unforgettable summer fun you experienced at Camp Speers. Keeping in touch with camp friends, framing and displaying pictures from the summer, and keeping a journal are great ways to cherish your camp memories.
The nice thing about Camp Speers is that there is always something to look forward to there, and you are welcome to come back for some of our year-round programs.
These events are a great way to share the magic of camp with your family. You can show your parents your favorite hiking trail, experience all the fun of a Camp Speers campfire together, or try to out climb your family at the climbing tower! These programs can also be a great way to introduce a younger brother, sister, or friend to Camp Speers.
If you loved your time at Camp Speers and would like to give back, you can attend one of our volunteer work weekends. You’ll join some of your favorite camp staff, campers from years past, and some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
