Camp Facilities

Camp Speers embraces 1,100 beautifully forested acres in the heart of the Pocono Mountains. At the center of Camp, 42-acre Lake Nichecronk offers a natural environment to explore and enjoy. Located just a few miles from the Delaware National Water Gap and a couple hours from downtown Philadelphia and New York City, Camp Speers has been providing the perfect mountain get-away for campers and families since 1948.

Lodging

Camp Speers has two main village centers, Eljabar and Speers, each with separate cabins. Villages feature large program areas, lodging, bathhouses and dining facilities. Check out the photo gallery below. Each cabin consists of 2 to 9 campers.

Dining

At Speers, mealtime brings campers and counselors together. It creates an opportunity for spirited conversation, time to reflect on their day and foster social skills and manners. Meals are served family style in the main dining halls at Speers and Eljabar Villages.

Waterfront

Camp Speers features a fantastic waterfront with activities like sailing, kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddleboarding, and swimming all set on our beautiful Lake Nichecronk. This 42-acre lake features two sand beaches where lakeside activities take place.

Adventure

Prepare for an exhilarating experience! Campers can challenge themselves on the rock wall, float weightlessly through the trees on our zip line, or make their way through our ropes course. After all that, enjoy a hike through all the beautiful scenery Camp Speers has to offer.

Equestrian

The equine facilities are conveniently located in the middle of Camp and feature two riding arenas, a large paddock, and a barn. We offer horsemanship in both English and Western disciplines. From the Center, campers can enjoy riding miles of trails throughout Camp.

Camp Fire

For our overnight campers, the camp fire is a nightly experience where we sing songs, perform skits, and discuss the Y core values. Camp fire is the perfect way to end the day, and allows the entire camp to gather. Some nights, we even have S'more as a treat!

Sports

Campers can feed their competitive and playful spirit with a game of gaga ball, volleyball, basketball, or soccer! If your child loves sports they are sure to find new friends they can get into fun games while they are at camp.

Farm

Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! Only kidding, our farm at Camp Speers features goats and chickens. Campers get the opportunity to care for the animals and learn more about the role they play on a farm. Plus we have specialty camp options where kids can learn to cook!

Bathhouses

Cabin groups are assigned to a designated girls or boys bathhouse with each group of cabins using their respective bathhouse for tooth brushing, showers, and well, “you know.” These are modern facilities with hot and cold running water. Each has five private showers and their own private dressing areas.
